Ingredients:
3/4 c. lentils
1 c. barley
1 onion, chopped
1 lb. beef, (I use stew beef), cooked and browned
2 cans tomatoes
1 Tbsp. Parsley
1 tsp. beef bouillon
1 clove garlic
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
3 bay leaves
1/4 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. salt
10 c. water
Directions:
Brown beef with onion and garlic. Drain. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, cover the pot and let it simmer for 1-2hrs. or until lentils are tender.
Hint: Add the 2 tsp. salt at the end or the lentils will be tough.
